#DelilahAdvice ... Reap What You Sow.

One of my earliest garden memories is of planting peas with my grandma. She showed me how to place the tiny hard seed in the ground, and cover it with a bit of soil. The rains of western Oregon kept the spring soil wet, and daily I would go out to check the seeds. I expected to see sprouts within hours, at least within a day or two! I had to learn patience... After a few weeks, the pea plants were as high as my chubby knees...and after a few months (eternity to a child) they were ready to be plucked from the vine and eaten raw.

So it is with seeds of faith, seeds of hope, and seeds of love. You plant them and tend them, water them with kindness and consideration, and wait patiently to see the fruits of your labors. To be honest, you may not see anything for years, but they will come.I recently received a note on Facebook from a young woman name Moriah. She'd been a child that I knew some 20 years ago when she was 11. Her mom had issues and they were without a place to live one summer, so Moriah came to stay with me and my two kids in Rochester NY. Moriah had a rough life and the walls of protection around her heart were a mile thick. I did what I could to bless her and plant those seeds of hope. After the summer ended she went home. Their phone was disconnected shortly after, and I didn't hear from her again, until now:

Delilah!! Oh my gosh its been so long! This is Moriah, I was an avid listener who called the station to made a tearful dedication to my long lost older brother. You made every effort possible to reunite us, unfortunately that didn't happen. You brought me into a loving home and showed me what a family is. I really want to thank you for taking me in, even for the short time that I was there, you made a large impact in my life. It's been about 20 years since then, and I'd like to tell you that I am doing very well. I found the love off my life, we have been married since 2009. I've got the most amazing family, and I praise God for everything he has blessed me with. I hope you and your beautiful family are doing well. Thank you again, Moriah
