Internet Debate Breaks Out Over What Fruits & Veggies Should Go In Fridge

There are some foods that nobody would question whether they should go in the refrigerator or not, like say chicken or milk, but then there are others that folks have distinct opinions about.

Well, in the UK, a graphic was recently shared on Facebook revealing what fruits and vegetables need to be put in the fridge, and which don’t and it’s caused quite controversy. Fruits and veggies that go in the fridge include apricots, blackberries, grapes, green beans, cauliflower, strawberries, cherries and more, while those that don’t include bananas, apples, peaches, lemons, cucumbers, peppers, eggplant, and tomatoes.

It seems some folks were downright shocked by the list, with many questioning why things like apples, cucumbers and tomatoes shouldn't be. And some also questioned the notion that carrots, cauliflower and grapes always need to go in the fridge. Apparently the one item that caused the most debate was the potato, which is on the don’t refrigerate list, which has shocked a lot of people.

  • As for the reactions from the public, one person noted, “I refrigerate potatoes. They last triple the time!,” while another added, “I always put peppers cucumber potatoes sweet potatoes and garlic in the fridge.” One person even noted, “I keep all my fruit and veg in the fridge what a rebel!”
