If you live anywhere in Downtown Phoenix, your power probably went out last night for a short period. There was a small explosion Tuesday night.
It was a transformer explosion that happened near 3rd Avenue and Roosevelt Road around 9 p.m. and it was caught on video. A resident, Ben Bethel, recorded the explosion vis his Nest camera.
According to APS, 2,898 customers initially lost power, but all the power was restored by 10:15 p.m. APS said a couple of burnt switches caused the equipment failure.
