Sam Smith Is Working On A New Album

2016 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival - Weekend 1 - Day 2

Sam Smith is working on a new album!

On Wednesday (October 2), the pop star shared a photo on Instagram where they're sprawled out on the floor in a starfish position. "Writing my third album like..." they captioned the carefree post.

The news shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to fans. Smith has released a string of singles and features so far this yer, including their collaboration with Normani "Dancing With a Stranger," "How Do You Sleep," and cover of Judy Garland's "Get Happy" with Renee Zellweger for the Judy soundtrack. The album will serve as a followup to 2017's The Thrill of It All. Check out Smith's post below.

Earlier this year Smith came out as non-binary and last month announced that their preferred pronouns are they/them via social media.

"After a lifetime of being at war with my gender I've decided to embrace myself for who I am, inside and out," the 27-year-old wrote in a lengthy note. "I’m so excited and privileged to be surrounded by people that support me in this decision, but I’ve been very nervous about announcing this because I care too much about what people think but f**k it!"
