6 Classic Christmas Songs About Santa Claus: Mariah Carey, Jackson 5 & More

The Christmas season is quickly approaching and the avalanche of festive covers from your favorite artists is bound to hit soon. From upbeat track about joyous love to ballads about winter snow, it's bound to be yet another season full of giving and there's one person who will spearhead it all: good ol' Saint Nicholas, otherwise known as Santa Claus. In honor of St. Nick and all the happiness that he brings to the children around the world, iHeartRadio has decided to honor the holiday figure with a list of some of our favorite covers of classic Christmas tracks devoted to the jolly giant, courtesy of The Jackson 5, Mariah Carey and more!

1. The Supremes - "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town"

As part of their seventh studio album, Merry Christmas, The Supremes offered the world covers of a string of Christmas classics, including "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town." The best part of this version falls on the famed group's ability to truly interject their Motown flair into the mix.

2. Mariah Carey - "Here Comes Santa Claus"

MC is traditionally known as the Queen of Christmas and her 2010 rendition of "Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane)" hears the iconic pop titan offer a mild facelift to the classic. It's not as memorable as some of her other festive contributions, but the music video will certainly remain in your head.

3. Hanson - "Little Saint Nick"

To capitalize off their debut momentum, Hanson recorded a whole cover of Christmas tunes for Hanson: Snowed In. Among the tracks on the 1997 LP included "Little Saint Nick," which hears the teenage trio offer their boy-ish charm atop the rocking production.

4. Jackson 5 - "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus"

The Jackson 5's rendition of "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" remains just as memorable as some of their original hits. In fact, the 1970 cover is probably the most famed version of all the renditions of the holiday tune.

5. LeAnn Rimes - "Must Be Santa"

For her second Christmas album, Today Is Christmas, LeAnn Rimes decided to put her spin on the holiday classics that she didn't touch on her first holiday album, What a Wonderful World, which was released in 2004. Among those covers included "Must Be Santa," which is actually based on a German drinking song.

6. Michael Bublé - "Santa Baby"

Michael Bublé might seem like the last artist you'd expect to sing "Santa Baby," but the singer's twist on the track is all too enjoyable that you have to crack a smile. After all, it starts with the opening line: "Santa baby, slip a Rolex under the tree, for me."
