After publishing her bestselling book, Lean In, last year about women and leadership in the workplace, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg has teamed up with the Girl Scouts on a public service campaign, called "Ban Bossy," which urges a ban on calling assertive girls "bossy." Sandberg says, "We need to recognize the many ways we systematically discourage leadership in girls from a young age -- and instead, we need to encourage them. So the next time you have the urge to call your little girl bossy? Take a deep breath and praise her leadership skills instead." Also involved in the campaign are actresses Jennifer Garner and Jane Lynch, fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg, NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
